Steve DiBenedetto

Works          Biography

Steve DiBenedetto was born in Bronx, New York in 1958. He received his BFA in 1980 from Parsons School of Design, and currently lives and works in New York City. DiBenedetto is best known for thickly layered paintings and drawings populated by organic and mechanic forms. Common motifs include octopi, helicopters, Ferris wheels and, more recently, architecture. The serpentine structures of DiBenedetto's work seem to be in a constant state of apocalyptic decomposition, but are simultaneously charged with palpable electricity.
